Exams… not studying

Perhaps i’ve been made prepared for exam that studying feels pointless… then again, i’ve not been doing well lately.

Thomas Cup 2010 Finals

As you all may know, China has won the Thomas Cup. China 3-0 Indonesia. Kinda like a lopsided victory don't you think? Well, the first match was... errr, what do you expect? Lin Dan kinda trashed his opponent. :P The first doubles, if only Indonesia won the first set, then maybe they had a chance. Well, they got a deuce. Close but not close enough. Pernally i think the most interesting match was the second singles between Simon Santoso and Chen Jin... at least for the first two sets. Well, the Indonesian player, Simon Santoso really played with such volour that he managed to defeat world no. 3 Chen Jin in the first set. He really has good skill in playing at the net and tricking his opponent in guessing his next move. Good job Simon Santoso. At least you did your very best!

Scholarship Award Ceremony

Well, well, this morning i had my Scholarship Award Ceremony at college. Nothing much, just got a certificate. Well, i got RM6000 tuition fee waiver. How unfortunate that only one person out of the many Seanarians got the full tuition fee waiver. That person is, Choong Jack Tung! (applause) Well, congrats Jack, you really, really did well for SPM.
Arrived around 8.45am for registration. Had a short chat with friend before the ceremony started at 10am. Then it was straight to certificate giving after a speech. It is said that there is 862 recipients for the Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Jeffrey Cheah Continuing Scholarship and Entrance Scholarship. Wow… that’s a lot…. and a lot of tuition fee waiver too! Haha~
So, i was number 225. The line goes quite quickly. at 10.50am it was my turn. Then i had to wait till about 12 something for the whole event to end. Not allowed to go home… well, what do you expect from a formal function? At the end of all of it, there was a photograph taking session. Well, might as well be in the photograph since i waited till now. :) Then it was all over. :)
Oh, forgot to mention. There was a performance by err… somebody… Well, he played the saxophone. :) I’ve always admired the saxophone… not mentioning the piano too! Haha~ I want to learn some other instrument but i just don’t have a chance. (sigh) Well, guess i’ll have to wait till later. :) Ah yes, the performance. Well, as i said i like the saxophone so obviously i like saxophone music. :P Yes, it was mesmerising… err… well, my eyes and ears were focused on it. Listening to every note and observing the gestures of a saxophonist. Interesting. :) Haha~
Well, that’s it for now. :) Happy birthday to Li Ren and Su Qi. There are quite a whole lot of birthdays in May in my calendar. :)

Uber Cup 2010 Finals

The whole of Korea would be celebrating now as Korea has defeated China in the Uber Cup 2010 Finals. For many years China has defended the title and this is the first time Korea holds the Uber Cup. Seeing them play, i am amazed by their fighting spirit and their determination. Their aggressiveness so great they fight to the last score.

A glimmer of hope it seems as Korea won the first singles against China’s World No. 1. Amazing Korea won two sets in a row. Perhaps the Chinese player had an injury? Continuing on with the first doubles, Korea again defeated China in 3 sets. Hopes run high amongst the Korean team members. Alas, China got their first win against a young Korean player, 17 years of age. Still, she fought to the last match. The determinant, second doubles match… 1 more win for Korea and the Uber Cup is in their hands. It was a fight to the ‘death’. Both teams playing so passionately, concentrating on the shuttle. Not wanting to make any mistakes for it may spell disaster. You could see it in their faces, their determination. The joyous feeling of winning the point, the heartache of making a mistake. During the last set, you could see the anxiety mounting. The Korean’s feeling the pressure, their hands tremble. Yet, they try with all their might to conceal it. The Chinese, it seems almost like they have nerves of steel. They do not tremble under pressure. A smart move delaying the start of each serve… it’s not only a war of endurance… psychological war. Korea 20-19 China. The moment of truth. One point for China… it will be a battle of stamina and endurance… the first to falter loses. One point for Korea, hearts will fill with joy, an overwhelming joy, indescribable… relief. The shuttle hits the net… and as it slowly falls to the floor, it registers in the minds of the people… Korea has won.

Such a joyful victory for the Koreans. (applause) They fought for it, and they deserve it. For the first time, Korea won the Uber Cup. Everyone in Korea must have been watching and cheering for them. Jumping for joy when their national team won the cup. :) Haha~ imagine the whole of Korea celebrating… and the team too! :) Hope you enjoyed the seemingly dramatic story. :P Haha~ Cheers!

I'm getting bored!

It's my exams and i'm having holidays! Is it great or what? :P Haha~ ... ... ... aaaarghhh! I'm getting bored studying! Not like i'm studing 24/7 or anything. It's so boring! I think i'd rather do past-year questions right now than to study... unfortunately, i've finished about all the past-year questions i can get. (thanks to all the pressure from the lecturers) Sigh~ Rotting in the midst of exams... I think i should go to college to study... but then, i'd most probably procrastinate and wander aimlessly in college till i get bored and decide to take the bus home. Sigh~ I am lost... and most probably doomed for not studying. However, i've been doing quite averagely in my exams despite the fact that i laze around a whole lot and do about 3 hours of studying (max. during exams time)... ... ... i am totally lost and do not know what to do. Get bored studying? Get bored doing nothing? Please advise!

Thomas Cup 2010 Semifinals

Well, well, latest update: Malaysia lost in semifinals for Thomas Cup 2010. China 3-0 Malaysia. Hmm... perhaps it's not wise to blame anyone. The Chinese team really is super good. Malaysian team is fairly good but not good enough to beat China. Well, we need new players. Some are getting old... I think that Malaysia is loosing the fighting spirit. What happened to all the exciting continuous smashes? China was so aggressive. They must really, really want to win... or they're just too good at it. :P Well, i don't want to support China cause they're kinda strong. I think i'll support Indonesia in the finals. Well, somebody has got to bring them down eventually, right? Haha~

Buses...

Well, hello. Exams are here.... for me at least. It's my 'holidays' aka exams. A month in all and the wierd thing is, i'm going to have my graduation dinner right after it! Haha, graduating before i actually graduate.

It seems that Sunway Pyramid is so convenient. Just a 15 minute walk away. My friends and i often go there during our free time... although most of the time we get stranded and lost not knowing what to do or where to eat. :P Eventually we play scissors, paper, stone to decide. Haha~

Have any of you ever taken the public bus? Don't you think that the public bus is somewhat not punctual? I really, really hate it when i have to wait for the bus not knowing when it will come. There is no equal intervals between bus arrivals at the bus stop. So unreliable. Hey, you know, i pay RM2 for a bus ticket which costs RM1.90.... that's a profit of about 10 cents from each passenger. Let's say there are about 15 passengers per ride, every hour for about 15 hours... hmmm... that's about RM25 profit per day. Wow... ingenious... Thing is, they don't have change. Just stating a fact which you may come across in life. :)

Once i wondered what i was good at but now it doesn't seem to matter. Just live life to the fullest!

Sleeping in the bus…

Have you ever slept in a bus? Or perhaps in a train? Sleeping without knowing when the bus will stop and a chance that you may miss the bus stop. Well, i take my college bus almost every weekday. Going there and coming back. I usually sleep in the bus on the way home. You know, after a tiring typical 9 hour day at college. Hmm… whenever the bus stops i wake up and sometimes think that i have reached my stop. Once i woke up and immediately got up and was about to leave the bus until i realise, "Oh, wrong bus stop." Well, today i was sleeping as usual until suddenly i thought i heard somebody say, "Isn’t that guy suppose to get down here?" So i immediately woke up, got up, when to the door, seeing the bus driver smiling at me i said, "Sorry, bang." Went out the bus and realised that i got off at the wrong stop. =.=' Well, it would be kind of humiliating going back into the bus but oh well, i decided to walk. Besides it’s just one buss stop before the bus stop i was supposed to get off. Well, that was my awkward day.
Oh, a cool thing i saw today, a cloud with a silver-lining. Don’t see that too often. :)

Exams are coming

Well, haven't blogged for a long time. Gonna blog a short blog today. :) Hmm... updates. My 'holidays'start' next week. Haha~ Actually it's my AS exams. :P So it's kind of like my holidays for a month. :) Hmm... i wonder how's everybody else. Turns out that Sunway has, i think, the most Seanarians. Well, always meet a familiar face every single day. :)

Ah well, don't know what else to say. You know, sometimes you're so busy you don't feel like blogging. Well, guess i'll end here. All the best to all taking exams out there and to all having holidays, enjoy your hols. :) Time for destressing. :D
