The East it rises,
Its radiant beauty shines,
Its rays of hope herald new day,
Its presence so significant,
It dominates the sky,
It dwarfs the Jewel of the Night as it rise.
Soon at zenith its prominence shows,
Bright is its face,
Warm is its radiance,
Sometimes too hot it shines,
As though mocking those who stroll,
Yet it lights the path before us,
Without its presence,
Blind are we.
The West it ends,
Fading off the horizon,
As if playing hide and seek,
Till the next day dawns,
There it dwells.
The last glimmer of its radiance shines,
A performance it gives,
Before bidding farewell,
It lights the sky with the last of its rays,
An eerie red afar,
So dramatic it seems,
For dusk bids farewell,
To the Sun of ages.
